[ Personality ] ;; Admaa is actually a very shy and wary cat, staying away from even from most of the shelter workers who come in to feed him. Once coming out of his shell and knowing he can trust you and you won’t leave him, Ad is a very friendly and cuddly cat. Though he typically acts like a dog, do to the fact that he was raised by dogs and only knows how to lick faces and sniff butts. He often is found tussling with the other dogs due to this and gets along well with dogs more than his own kind. This causes him to be wary for most reasons, he remembers when the dogs would run from the humans and this is typically why he shies away and hides away His true nature is still one of the dogs, loyal, obedient, and loveable. Admaa is very watchful over everyone and tends to be like an alpha with animals, sometimes ‘howling’ and ‘barking’ loudly at them, making sure he is the more dominant one, even though he more often then not is taken down by some of the dogs.
Admaa had a rough life, but always stays very optimistic and loves to be there to see what everyone is doing, being curious about everything around him, often wandering off, which is why he is microchipped, so that if he wonders too far they can easily give him back to the Andersons Family. We guess that Ad doesn’t often pay attention if he keeps wandering off and getting lost, even if he has a nose like a dog itself as well. Ad barely looks at anything that doesn’t interest him, which causes him to be forgetful and lose where he is total. Curious can often get the best of him, but he makes it home any way he can.
[ Why is he so Friendly? ] ;; Ad was actually raised by dogs after he lost his family. This is why he is so friendly towards Ace, he sees the large male as sort of a brother of some sort. Ad thinks as him being a family member, as he looks like the group of dogs he grew up with, mostly Shepherd mixes. Ad doesn’t exactly remember how they both met, but he loves to follow Ace around the kennel and even ‘barks’ at him sometimes.
[ Backstory ] ;; Life was rough when it started off for Admaa. He doesn’t remember it very well, everything being quite hazy, but some details stick out like a sore thumb. But, everything started in a little ditch off the side of a road.
The cries of the little kittens around the large older female sounded almost peaceful compared to the roars of the cars speeding past them. Five little struggled to move through the large and tall weeds around them, just to get something to drink. Four girls, one little boy. Life would soon just get harder for all these kittens, very soon, mostly for the little guy who seemed to take after an unknown father. They all laid quietly as the cats pasted by, one by one, from dark to light. It wasn’t even clockwork, it just never stopped.
One days, around a week and a half later, something happened, the kittens whined for hours, waiting till their mother returned, but the old she-cat never returned. Everything was chaotic, the kitten squirming around, looking for their mother, until nighttime. All the meowing had calmed down, except one little kitten, meowing as if there was nothing else in the world to do. His siblings disappearing one by one, till only he was left. The boy wouldn’t survive very long if it wouldn’t have been for one little miracle meeting.
Two stray dogs ran across the currently quiet freeway, hoping to get to the small woods on the other side, but stopped after they heard frantic meowing. One of the dogs sniffed around, soon finding the last kitten in the ditch, covered in dirt and his eyes and ears still closed, barely hanging on from his hunger. The dog picked up the small kitten by the scruff and climbed out of the ditch, just to go into a hiding spot just right inside the woods. The dog was a female, seeming to have nursed her own litter before, she laid the kitten down beside her and let the tried baby suckle what it needed till she picked him up once more and followed after the older dog in front of her.
After a good long while of walking the dogs ended up in an old junk yard, a group of around ten to fifteen dogs stood around barking and digging in trash cans. Quietly the female moved the small kitten into an old shack that was just inside the junkyard, seeming a homeless person had once lived there, as a dirty old mattress was moved into the building, a small square was cut out just for the dogs as well. For a very dirty place, it seemed comfortable. Later, Admaa would learn that this female’s name was Jenna, and she was one of the four females in the small stray pack. The kitty cuddled up to Jenna and after suckling a while, he fell asleep, with Jenna herself also falling asleep.
Skipping forward a few months, Admaa had now been given a name, Hiram, a name that Jenna said that had been one of her puppies’ names before they had passed. Admaa always wondered why he was so much smaller than the rest of his pack, wandering around, always seeming them with their fluffy tails, while his might have been silky or just dirty. It actually took Admaa a long time to figure out that he wasn’t a dog, but being raised by them he still thought he was at least half dog. Admaa had never seen a cat, never ever, that was until one stumbled into their the camp that a few months later.
The dogs stood around the cat, growling as it hissing loudly at them, claws ready to rip at any of them that got to close. They had caught the cat trying to steal from what little food they had at the moment. The dogs were friendly around cats, unless something of this deal happened. Admaa ran over, Jenna, and two other dogs, same age as Admaa, ran right behind him. Admaa moves throughout the dogs, weaving through the legs, walking straight out to find the cat standing with the fur straight up on their back. Admaa stood frozen, staring at the cat, they look like... him! The cat seemed to spot Admaa and tried to move over to him, having it backfire, Admaa also growled slightly at the cat.
”Why are you trying to steal food cat?”the alpha asked, walking over.
The cat stayed back and hissed, backing itself into a corner. That was a pretty stupid idea, as the dogs quickly had it cornered, even thought it was let go by the alpha barking at all of them to back up and leave the cat alone.
”You know that winter is going to be starting soon! Junkyard dogs can barely gather scraps, so what about us cats? Nothing to eat,” the cat hissed.
Admaa soon back quietly, his bunches of course had gone down, alpha told them to stop, but also because this cat looked like Ad himself! The boy was quite confused, was he like his brothers and sisters around him or the small creature in front of him? Ad figured out he would ask Jenna later.
Later the cat left and Ad ended up asking Jenna who that creature was. Jenna ended up spilling everything, Ad’s biological mother and how she found him alone and starving in a ditch. He never blamed Jenna, she rescued him! Still, winter fell soon and many of the dogs mysteriously went missing, and Ad knew they weren’t dying. Alpha knew what was happening, but kept it from his pack, till the day came. It was now that Ad was around 3 years old, the Alpha in his old age, Jenna still young to Ad, but older in dog years.
Autumn had fallen, making everything in beautiful warm tones. Ad was wondering around one day when heading back to the junkyard, seeing large metallic trucks parked in front of the junkyard. Ad ran quickly, trying to see what was happening. Only being able to see in a small hole in the fence, Ad saw as these strange creatures took away his pack. Ad ‘barked’ hoping someone would hear him, just as he watched Jenna and the Alpha being taken away from the yard. As they were loaded up Ad ran over and scratched at the cage doors and whined softly. Jenna slowly lifted her head and whined softly for Ad to go.
”Go Hiram. It’s no longer safe here, go look for a new home, somewhere safe,”Jenna whined.
”No no no! This is my home, I can’t just leave you!”Ad yowled.
Jenna then nudged Ad away making him fall backwards off the truck, just as it took off. Ad ran behind the truck watching and yelling as loud as the little cat could, just wanting his family back. Ad tripped, rolling down on the rocky ground. Lifting his head up, he watched as his family was taken from him. Forever being gone.
Ad had slowly walked back to the junkyard, going in the old shack that he had once grown up in, taking an old stuffed animal with him and dragging it with him to find a new home. Walking for a few days on end, stealing out of trash cans and being chased off by other cats. He felt so lonely, that was until he found Ace. Ad was wondering one day and found Ace actually pretty close to the SCS shelter. Quickly Ad became friends with Ace and followed him around looking for some scraps. Of course since you’re so close to a shelter they are surely going to see a few stray animals. After being taken in Ad would only stay close to Ace, only coming out to get food or look around to see what they did with their stuffed animal.
